Everything Moist Seems Alive (live performance + talk by Boris Acket)

MU Hybrid Art House · Torenallee 40-06, Entrance side: Ketelhuisplein, 5617 BD Eindhoven

Blending spatial waterworks, vocal performance, sound design, fashion, scenography, and video art, Everything Moist Seems Alive translates flow of water into a modern, immersive myth. Water is our deepest nature, yet it mirrors our sharpest contradictions: life and death, calm and catastrophe, sacred purity and polluted toxicity. Inspired by Astrida Neimanis’ concept of hydrofeminism, the project challenges the illusion of human autonomy and self-containment.

Rather than closed-off fortresses, Everything Moist Seems Alive treats our bodies as permeable, leaking ecosystems inextricably connected to the planetary water cycle. In the shared economy of moisture, water acts as the ultimate equalizer, dissolving social hierarchies and reminding us that we don't just inhabit our biotope; we are our biotope.

A three-part performance choir will bring Frieda Gustavs’ vocal libretto to life, moving through Boris Acket’s sonic landscape. Wherever the voice travels, the water awakens: churning, splashing, and steaming in response. Artist Boris Acket will also be present, taking you through the making of his resonant, leaking world, distilled from the waterworks that form the ritual, beating heart of the work.
